A woman suspected of carrying out a bomb attack in Monaco that seriously injured a Ukrainian-born businessman last week has been found ‌dead in Ukraine.

The 39-year-old suspect, Anastasiia Berezovska, a Ukrainian national, was wanted by Interpol last week on charges of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and placing an explosive device in a public place with criminal intent.

Ukrainian prosecutors announced on Tuesday that her body was found near Kyiv, with a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities have not disclosed her killer.

However, two men have been arrested in connection with the case.

They include a former law enforcement officer and a Ukrainian military intelligence officer.

Prosecutors discovered Ms Berezovska received cryptocurrency payments from the two male suspects linked to the bomb attack and a blood-stained torture chamber with hammers and other equipment.

State authorities confirmed that she disguised herself as a man before placing the explosive device in the apartment building.

Ukrainian investigators noted that Ms Berezovska returned to the country on July 1, two days after the attack, and remained in contact with her family and the two male suspects.

French police said the incident targeted 58-year-old Ukrainian businessman Vadym Lermolaiv and his family.

Mr Lermolaiv and his partner suffered serious injuries, with his son suffering minor injuries.

The businessman, a well-known real estate developer and Cypriot citizen, was said to have renounced his Ukrainian citizenship after the country imposed sanctions on him in December 2023 for alleged business links to Russian entities.

Prince Albert II of Monaco condemned the incident as an “odious act”, urging state authorities to conduct a prompt investigation.
