Fish out Sowore’s killers, Fayemi tells police

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti has called on the police to bring to justice the killers of Olajide Sowore, younger brother of publisher and rights activist Omoyele Sowore.
Adding his voice to calls on the police, Mr Fayemi said, “It is time security agencies, with the support of the citizens, put an end to this wastage of precious lives.”
The late Sowore, a student of Igbinedion University in Edo, was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday on the Lagos-Benin expressway.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode in Ado-Ekiti, Mr Fayemi described the killing as unfortunate, urging the police to urgently find the killers and rescue the other five people reportedly abducted by the gunmen.
Condoling with the Sowore family, the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Mr Fayemi, urged security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity.
