INEC says Osun residents’ PVCs ready for collection ahead of governorship poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that Permanent Voter Cards of eligible voters who registered or updated their records during the recent Continuous Voter Registration exercise in the state are ready for collection.
A statement on Monday by the resident electoral commissioner, Oluwatoyin Babalola, said the PVCs would first be distributed at the registration area level across the state, before collection would continue at INEC council area offices.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State, wishes to inform the general public, particularly persons that registered, applied for transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or update of records during the just concluded Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise that their Permanent Voter Cards are now ready for collection,” the statement read.
The electoral body said the PVCs collection at the registration areas across the state’s 332 registration areas would run from July 22 to July 28, between 9:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m daily, including weekends.
It added that PVCs collection would continue at Local Government Area offices in the state from July 29 to August 7, between 9:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m daily, including weekends.
“All registered voters concerned are strongly advised to take advantage of the exercise and collect their PVCs promptly within the stipulated period, as the Permanent Voter Card remains the only valid document for accreditation and voting on election day,” Ms Babalola said.
The electoral commission disclosed that all uncollected PVCs from previous voter registration exercises would also be available for collection during the distribution period.
The commission noted that the collection of voter cards is strictly personal and warned that proxy collection would not be allowed under any circumstances.
