Governor Inuwa Yahaya has commended Ashaka Cement for its contributions to the socio-economic development and industrial growth of Gombe.

According to a statement on Tuesday by Mr Yahaya’s spokesman, Ismaila Uba-Misilli, the governor spoke when the firm’s managing director, Ibrahim Aminu, briefed him on the company’s expansion project and transition to HBM Nigeria Plc.

Mr Yahaya described the company as “a vital partner” in Gombe’s industrialisation drive and broader economic transformation. He urged the management to deepen its corporate social responsibility interventions and create more employment opportunities for Gombe indigenes.

The governor particularly stressed the need to prioritise residents of the host community as the company implements its expansion programme. Mr Yahaya said stronger local employment opportunities would ensure that communities hosting the company benefit more directly from its continued expansion and operations.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to investor-friendly policies and a conducive business environment that supports industrial growth and attracts additional investments.

The governor assured investors that Gombe would continue strengthening policies and partnerships capable of promoting sustainable economic development across the state.

Mr Aminu, in his remarks, appreciated Yahaya for maintaining cordial relations between the Gombe government and Ashaka Cement. He said the administration’s business-friendly policies had continued to strengthen the company’s operations and position it for future growth.

Mr Aminu further expressed confidence that the company’s expansion plans would contribute to increased economic activity and strengthen its long-term presence in Gombe.
