An unidentified Nigerian woman has gone viral on social media after she was captured in a video fighting a driver in Pakistan over 700 Pakistani rupees (N3,400) transport fare.

Reports noted that the incident recently happened on a busy road in the city of Rawalpindi, where the woman and the male cabbie engaged in physical scuffle in front of bystanders, who eventually intervened between the two parties.

According to local media Bloom Pakistan, the cabbie told bystanders that the dispute stemmed from the refusal of the woman to pay a Rs. 700 taxi fare, which escalated tensions between the duo.

The pair reportedly stopped fighting after some bystanders assured the driver that he would be paid.

A nearby shopkeeper was later said to have intervened by giving the driver Rs. 100 to help resolve the dispute.

Authorities have yet to release any statement about the incident as of the time this report was filed and it was unclear whether either of the two parties had filed a complaint with the police.

Meanwhile, the viral video has divided opinions on social media as many sided with the woman, questioning her choice of moving to Pakistan, while some showed support for the driver.

“What are you people doing in this country that’s not safe for their own women, why are you risking your safety, for places like that wenti una dey fine,” Instagram user @onulilly wrote.

User @drip_tee_style also maintained the same position, stating “In Pakistan? What is she doing there? Nigerians please, how bad is back home to the point where a Nigerian girl found herself in Pakistan?.”

“He was trying to scam the poor girl and she taught him a lesson,” @ishb2012 commented while @kamikazegerman posited, “He can do that with his wife. But not with a Nigerian woman.”

Some commentators blamed the woman for refusing to pay for the service the cabbie rendered, including @shahjahan.pal_01, who claimed they were present at the scene of the incident.

“I was there. Actually the lady refused to pay the taxi fare and tried to run from there. When the taxi guy stopped her she started fighting with him, lucky he was a decent man and didn’t throw back at her cause she is a foreigner in our country,” the commenter who identified as a Pakistani said.

“She refused to pay him and also got aggressive with the guy, it’s very clear he didn’t want to hit or harm her bravo to pakistani brother and shame on this lady for creating such a mess for a few pennies,” @a7medbdn stated.

“For those who don’t understand in the end the driver said she refused to pay 700 rupee £1.88 then another man said I will pay it just let it go.. the thing is why take a taxi and refuse to pay then act the way because the man is trying to making a living,” @storm.n.n32 stated.
