The Data Analytics Group for Asiwaju (DAGFA), a support group for President Bola Tinubu, says it will deploy data-driven communication and verified statistics to promote the administration’s achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group’s spokesperson, Kolawole Sodipo, said on Friday in Abuja that DAGFA would rely on official data from institutions such as the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Budget Office and the Ministry of Finance.

He said the group’s objective was to ensure that public discourse on the Tinubu administration was guided by verifiable facts rather than misinformation.

Mr Sodipo said the administration’s first term had been marked by structural reforms, including the removal of petrol subsidy and unification of the foreign exchange market.

According to him, the reforms have improved public finances, increased non-oil revenue and enhanced investor confidence.

He said the administration had also recorded progress in infrastructure development, education, housing, security, youth empowerment and economic diversification.

Mr Sodipo said more than 2,700 kilometres of highways and rail lines were under construction or rehabilitation, while the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) had disbursed over N200 billion to more than 1.5 million students.

He added that the Renewed Hope Housing Programme had delivered over 10,000 housing units and created more than 300,000 jobs.

On security, he said the administration had strengthened military operations, expanded the Nigerian Army to 12 operational divisions and recruited over 50,000 personnel.

Mr Sodipo also said fiscal reforms had reduced the debt service-to-revenue ratio and increased federal allocations to states.

Also speaking, Olatunbosun Akinoso acknowledged that the subsidy removal and exchange rate reforms initially triggered inflationary pressures.

She, however, said recent data from the NBS indicated that core inflation had begun to moderate, while month-on-month food inflation had declined from its 2023 peak.

Ms Akinoso said the reforms were designed to reposition the economy for long-term stability rather than deliver immediate gains.

She said sustaining the current policies would help consolidate progress in the economy, infrastructure, security and human capital development.

According to her, continuity in leadership is necessary to preserve ongoing reforms and ensure policy consistency.

She said DAGFA would monitor public narratives, provide evidence-based responses to misinformation and produce simplified communication materials, including fact sheets, infographics and short videos.

Ms Akinoso added that the group would operate within the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 and subject all campaign materials to verification before public dissemination.

Similarly, the group’s North-West coordinator, Ibrahim Maidugu, said DAGFA had invested heavily in research and fact-checking to ensure the credibility of its public communication.

Mr Maidugu said information released by the group was supported by official statistics and verifiable sources.

He added that the group’s website and social media platforms contained references and source links to enable members of the public to independently verify its claims.
