Nigerian football fans have commended the Super Falcons after they appeared in coordinated traditional attire for their official 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) photoshoot.

The 10-time African champions shared photographs of the squad dressed in matching green-and-white traditional outfits inspired by Nigerian fabrics and styles on their official Instagram page.

The photoshoot not only provided official media images for the team but also projected Nigeria’s cultural identity to an international audience.

The images highlighted the role of sports in promoting fashion, cultural heritage and national pride.

The photographs attracted thousands of reactions on social media, with supporters praising the players for embracing indigenous fashion ahead of the continental championship.

An Instagram user, @guchiamah, described the players’ appearance as a reflection of champions, saying, “Drip check WAFCON big aunty vibes because 10 times they’ve proven themselves, the best in the game.”
