Dayo Adeyeye, the national chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), a political group mobilising grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu, has expressed confidence that the president will win all 36 states in the 2027 presidential election.

Mr Adeyeye made the assertion on Tuesday in Osogbo at a programme tagged “SWAGA 2.0”, organised to mobilise support for Mr Tinubu’s re-election and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji.

He attributed his confidence to what he described as the President’s outstanding performance in office.

“I am so sure, by the grace of God, that the president will win a second term.

“He will win in all the 36 states of Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election because he has performed beyond expectations,” he said.

Mr Adeyeye, who is also the board chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), said Mr Tinubu had fulfilled promises made by SWAGA ahead of the 2023 general election.

“When we started SWAGA and told Nigerians about him, we said he would change the face of the country.

“In education, there has been no strike in tertiary institutions for four years, unlike before.

“In infrastructure, there is a revolution ongoing, including the construction of concrete roads with a lifespan of up to 100 years, as well as the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway,” he said.

Mr Adeyeye urged the electorate to support the APC governorship candidate in the August 15 election, insisting that Mr Oyebamiji remained the President’s preferred candidate.

In his remarks, Mr Oyebamiji said the APC was focused on governance rather than political confrontation.

Represented by a former member of the Osun House of Assembly, Tunde Olatunji, the candidate said his priority was to win the election and deliver quality governance.

“I am not interested in fighting anybody. What we have is not a fight but a determination to provide better governance for the people of Osun.

“If elected, my administration will ensure the state continues on the path of progress,” he said.

Mr Oyebamiji also pledged to replicate key federal government developmental initiatives in Osun within six months if elected.

Also speaking, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, appealed to residents across the state to participate in the election.

Represented by the Osun State ambassador of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Sunday Akere, Mr Oyetola urged voters to return the state to the progressive fold.

“I appeal to residents across the 332 wards and 3,673 polling units in Osun State to come out en masse on August 15 and vote for Oyebamiji,” he said.

Earlier, the executive chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Hulayat Omidiran, described SWAGA 2.0 as a platform to deepen public engagement, strengthen democratic participation, and ensure that the dividends of governance reach communities.

Also, the chairman of media and publicity of the APC governorship campaign council, Remi Omowaiye, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory, urging voters to turn out massively on election day.
