NPF deploys Etaifo as CP for Osun election

He said Mr Etaifo would oversee and coordinate election security operations across the state.

The Nigeria Police Force, on Friday, announced the deployment of Commissioner of Police, Samuel Etaifo, to Osun State as the for the forthcoming governorship election.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Force spokesperson, Ani Iniedu, who said the deployment was part of the Force’s comprehensive election security strategy aimed at ensuring a peaceful, secure and credible electoral process.

He said Mr Etaifo would oversee and coordinate election security operations across the state, working in collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders to safeguard voters, election officials and electoral materials.

Mr Iniedu said the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Ibrahim Gotan, would remain in charge of the state command and continue to supervise routine policing activities while providing the necessary administrative and operational support to the CP for the election.

“Personnel deployed for election duties are reminded to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, neutrality, and strict compliance with the law, including the Code of Conduct for Security Personnel on Electoral Duty,” he said.
