Yobe: Flood kills two in Damaturu

Heavy rainfall in Damaturu has claimed the lives of Isah Haruna, a security guard and Abba Kyari, an 18-year-old man.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said, “Following heavy rainfall on 3 August 2026, a flood occurred in Malari, Pompomari, and nearby communities in Damaturu. The flooding resulted in two fatalities.”
The deceased were Isa Haruna, 38, and Abba Kyari, 18.
Their remains were conveyed to the mortuary at the General Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital.
The agency further advised the public, particularly parents and guardians, to closely supervise children.
