The director of the Kano State Fire Service, Sani Anas, said in an interview on Friday in Kano that 10 people died in ponds and wells, while property worth N9 million was destroyed by fire during the period.

According to him, the service responded to 13 emergency calls and five false alarms from residents.

The director called on the public to adopt proper fire safety measures to avoid unforeseen circumstances.

Mr Anas reiterated the service’s commitment to protecting lives and property through prompt emergency response and preventive safety measures.
