The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced it will carry out scheduled maintenance on the 40MVA 132/33kV transformer TR1 at its Akwanga 132/33kV transmission substation.

In a statement on Friday, the TCN said the maintenance will start at about 10:00 a.m. on Friday and is scheduled for completion by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 8th August 2026.

“The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk electricity supply from the affected transformer to distribute to its customers in Akwanga, Nasarawa and environs, Water Board and surrounding areas,” the TCN said.

The company further apologised for any inconvenience the exercise will cause in the affected areas.
