The Amalgamated All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups (AASG), on Friday, endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta for re-election in 2027, citing their laudable transformational policies and projects.

The Delta coordinator of AASG, Prosper Ogagha, said this at a news conference in Asaba on Friday.

Mr Ogagha pledged that the group would mobilise over 10,000 votes for the party in Delta in the 2027 general elections.

He said the occasion was to formally unveil its state chapter and publicly endorse the re-election bids of Tinubu and Oborevwori.

According to Mr Ogagha, AASG was adopted by the APC in September 2022 and has over 2,000 members nationwide.

Other AASG state members present at the conference included Frank Chukwuma, state deputy coordinator; Austin Omowho, secretary; Rachael Akanigha, welfare/media coordinator; Gift Otowa, coordinator, grassroots mobilisation and Rachael Enede and Mariam Nwador, members.

Mr Ogagha said Mr Tinubu has mustered the political will to address the many decades of decay in the country through his transformational policies and programmes.

He noted that the current situation may seem tough for citizens of the country, but it takes tough, responsible and honest leadership to fix the situation.

Mr Ogagha said: “Nigeria is at a critical point in its journey, one that requires honesty, courage, and clarity of purpose. This is not a time for easy answers or comfortable decisions. It is a time for responsible leadership”.

He said the group was committed to mobilising 10,000 votes for Mr Tinubu and Mr Oborevwori to enable them to continue deepening their reformatory policies and programmes in 2027.

“We are gathered here today to highlight the achievements of His Excellencies, President Bola Tinubu, and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, and to formally unveil the Delta State Chapter of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups (AASG).

“We endorse Mr President and Gov. Oborevwori for a second term in office and all APC candidates, both state and national, in the 2027 general elections.

“Let me begin by acknowledging a simple truth: many Nigerians are experiencing economic pressure.

“These concerns are real, and they must not be dismissed. But at the same time, it is important to understand why difficult decisions are being made.

“The reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are not acts of convenience, they are acts of necessity,” he said.

Mr Ogagha noted that for decades, Nigeria operated systems that were unsustainable, adding that the current administration has taken decisive steps to correct them.

He cited some of Mr Tinubu’s reforms as the removal of the fuel subsidy, which had become a major financial burden on the nation; the unification of the foreign exchange system to promote transparency and stability.

“Also, the introduction of student loan initiatives to expand access to higher education. Increased investments in infrastructure and energy and the strengthening of social support frameworks for vulnerable citizens,” he said.

According to Mr Ogagha, the reforms are not without challenges, but they are designed to secure a more stable and prosperous future.

“The reality is simple; you cannot rebuild a system without first correcting its foundations”.

He said Mr Tinubu was determined and committed to rebuilding decades of defective foundations, which would surely come with both pains and gains over time.

Mr Ogagha said that, at the state level, Mr Oborevwori has continued to demonstrate focused and practical leadership through his M.O.R.E Agenda.

He said: “Across Delta State, we are seeing completed and ongoing road infrastructure, including the construction of flyover bridges, rehabilitation and improved road connectivity.

“These strategic infrastructure projects are supporting economic activities. Youth empowerment and skills development initiatives and community focused development efforts are reaching the grassroots.

“Most recent is the State Economic and Investment Summit, which has attracted both local and foreign investors, and the unveiling of the 100-million-dollar viability gap fund for investors”.

The AASG state coordinator said all these projects and programmes of the Oborevwori-led government should be sustained to fruition when the governor returns to complete his second term in office.

He urged everyone to mobilise votes for Mr Tinubu and Mr Oborevwori in the general elections to ensure the sustainability of their transformational policies and projects.

On his part, the group’s South-South zonal coordinator, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, who also spoke on behalf of the national leadership, hailed Messrs Tinubu and Oborevwori for their quality leadership and impactful programmes and projects.

He called on Nigerians and the people of Delta to mobilise support to ensure the return of Mr Tinubu and Mr Oborevwori in 2027.

According to him, the AASG is committed to mobilising voters from the grassroots to vote the president and the governor in 2027 because of their honest, sincere and transformative policies and programmes.
