A 36-year-old truck driver, Moses Ogundina, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a truck valued at N250 million.

Mr Ogundina, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and unlawful damage.

The prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that Mr Ogundina and others still at large committed the offences on April 15, 2025, at GPC Energy and Logistics, Oregun, Lagos.

The prosecutor alleged that the defendant stole a truck with registration number MNG 229, valued at N250 million, belonging to GPC Energy and Logistics.

Ms Ikhayere also alleged that Mr Ogundina unlawfully and maliciously damaged 900 bags of flour while transporting 180 packs of drugs in the truck, contaminating the Flour Mills Nigeria products.

She said the offences contravened Sections 287, 350 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Mr Ogundina pleaded not guilty to all three counts before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi, who granted him bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.

The magistrate ordered that each surety should present evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State government and ownership of landed property.

The court adjourned the case until September 20 for further proceedings.
