FCSC begins process for promotion of Nigeria’s senior civil servants

The Federal Civil Service Commission has commenced an online accreditation exercise for officers on salary grade levels (GLs) 14, 15 and 16 who are due for promotion in the Federal Civil Service.
Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the FCSC, disclosed this in a statement on Friday. Mr Olaopa directed all affected officers to complete their online accreditation through the commission’s designated promotion portal between Friday, August 28.
Mr Olaopa also said that prospective candidates would access the accreditation portal using login details sent to their respective registered email addresses.
He advised all affected officers to complete the accreditation within the stipulated period and emphasised that the portal would close on August 28, with no extension.
He further said that candidates who failed to complete their accreditation within the prescribed period would have to re-present themselves for the exercise in 2027.
Mr Olaopa urged all affected officers to take advantage of the period provided and complete the accreditation process before the closing date.
Mr Olaopa also urged permanent secretaries, accounting officers, and CEOs of ministries, departments, and agencies to bring the contents of official correspondence to the attention of all concerned staff.
According to him, this should include officers serving at duty posts within and outside their headquarters, as well as those serving abroad for necessary compliance.
The FCSC boss advised all concerned officers and MDAs to fully comply with the guidelines and timelines set for the exercise.
