Two men, Shele Taiwo, 38, and Adeola Odunayo, 37, appeared before the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Monday for assault.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and assault but pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants committed the offences at 5:20 p.m. at the Honda Bus Stop on Idiroko Road, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye said an altercation broke out between the defendants and the petitioner, Friday Danland, which degenerated into an assault by the defendants.
Mr Adaraloye said that the offences contravened Sections 351 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The magistrate, O.O. Fadairo, granted each of the defendants bail of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum.
Mr Fadairo directed that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government.
