Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has said over 500 people volunteered to offer spiritual treatments to his colleague, Taiwo Hassan, otherwise called Ogogo, amid his battle with stage four cancer.

This came days after a video of the actor’s daughters, Shakira Taiwo, crying and begging for medical help for her ailing father emerged on social media on Monday.

Mr Kosoko, in a statement on Wednesday, said, “We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him.”

The actor, however, said it was extremely difficult to move the ailing actor from the medical facility care where he was currently receiving treatment.

“Do not feel offended or disappointed if we are unable to bring Ogogo to you for spiritual assistance or treatment. It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help.

“The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move from the hospital while he is receiving care?

Apologising to people who had reached out to help, Mr Kosoko urged fans to continue to pray for the actor’s healing.

“Please understand that our inability to bring him to anyone doesn’t mean that we do not appreciate you, nor does it mean that we doubt your intentions or your desire to help. On the contrary, we are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern that people across the world have shown towards him.

“Therefore, we encourage you to continue doing whatever you can from your respective locations and comfort zones. Keep praying. Keep supporting us,” the actor said.

Meanwhile, a colleague, Toyosi Adesanya, on Tuesday, noted that Mr Hassan had been admitted for immediate treatment following intervention by the Ogun State 2027 All Progressives Congress’ governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola.
