Nasarawa assembly confirms eight commissioner-nominees

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed eight commissioner-nominees sent to it by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, disclosed this on Monday after the screening of the nominees during the House proceedings in Lafia.
Congratulating the new commissioners on their well-deserved appointments, the speaker urged them to live above board if finally sworn in.
He listed those confirmed as Muhammad Habeeb-Nagogo from Wamba Local Government Area, Ahmed Yakubu from Lafia LGA, and Baba Shehu from Keffi LGA.
“Hon. Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye from Obi LGA, Adamu Rebecca Kpadji from Wamba LGA, Nawani Aboki from Doma LGA, Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim from Nasarawa LGA, and Ashefo Daniel Paul, Ph.D, from Lafia LGA,” he said.
The speaker directed the clerk of the House to communicate the House resolution to Mr Sule for his further necessary action.
Earlier, Suleiman Azara, the Majority Leader of the House, moved a motion for the confirmation of the commissioner-nominees.
Luka Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House, seconded the motion, while the House unanimously screened and confirmed the commissioner-nominees.
On August 5, Mr Jatau unveiled the eight commissioner-nominees submitted by Mr Sule for confirmation.
