Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has inaugurated new commissioners and aides as he reshuffles his cabinet.

The swearing-in ceremony took place Thursday night, while the reshuffling of portfolios was announced Friday in Jos.

The newly appointed commissioners include Gloria Karuri and Bala Isandu, both from Bassa Local Government Area; Prince Miaphen from Quan’pan; and Ishaku Maren from Bokkos LGAs.

Ms Karuri heads the Ministry of Education, Mr Miaphen oversees youths and sports development, while Mr Maren heads the Ministry of Budget and Planning.

The commissioners whose offices were reshuffled include former commissioner for lands and survey Peter Nyam-Gai, now commissioner for agriculture; Musa Ashoms of youths and sports, now commissioner for commerce and industry; and Joshua Ubandoma of the Ministry of Works, now commissioner for environment.

Similarly, Mr Gang, formerly of the education ministry, will now serve as commissioner in the new Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs; Samson Bugama of the agriculture ministry now heads livestock and fisheries; and Peter Gwom now heads lands and survey.

Those who maintained their ministries include Davou Gyang of transport, Caroline Darfur of women affairs, Joyce Ramnap of information and Bashir Lawandi of water resources and energy.

Philemon Dafi, however, remains the attorney general and Commissioner for Justice of the state.

After the swearing-in, Mr Mutfwang charged the commissioners to do their best in delivering their duties, adding that capacity for value addition influenced the appointments.
