Canadian midfielder Nathan Saliba set to join Villarreal in £15 million deal

Villarreal are set to sign young Canadian midfielder Nathan Saliba from Belgian side Anderlecht in a move worth £15 million.
Reports noted thatthe 22-year-old is set to join La Ceramica after a verbal agreement between the club and player had been reached.
Saliba is expected to undergo a medical test and sign a contract in the coming days.
The Canadian international is seen to improve the club’s midfield and will also join his fellow national teammates Tajan Buchanan and Tayi Oluwaseyi.
Since joining Anderlecht in July 2025, the 22-year-old has completed 50 appearances for the Belgian side scoring five goals and providing an assist.
In the recently concluded 2026 World Cup, the player was another crucial player for Canada’s run in the tournament. He scored in Canada’s 6-0 triumph over Qatar and finished the tournament with a goal and two assists in three appearances.
