Heirs Insurance Group says it hosted over 1,000 retirees at its inaugural retirees’ meet-up in Lagos.

The company, in a statement on Tuesday, said the event provided a platform for retirees to learn, network and participate in wellness and recreational activities.

It said the programme reaffirmed its commitment to retirees’ well-being and financial inclusion.

The event featured expert-led sessions, complimentary health screenings, financial guidance and interactive engagements.

According to the company, the activities were designed to help retirees manage their finances, maintain healthy lifestyles and navigate life after active employment.

It added that participants also shared experiences and built social networks within a supportive community.

The group also launched the Heirs Insurance rewards programme for its annuitants, offering discounts from selected health and lifestyle partners.

Speaking at the event, Ifesinachi Okpagu, chief marketing officer at Heirs Insurance Group, said retirees spent decades contributing to nation-building but were often overlooked in discussions on financial well-being and healthcare.

Mr Okpagu said the initiative was designed to extend the company’s relationship with retirees beyond monthly annuity payments.

“Through the Heirs Insurance Retirees Meet-up and our growing Retirees Club, we are intentionally creating a platform that brings retirees together, celebrates them and gives them access to the information, support and community they need to thrive in retirement,” he said.

He said the Heirs Insurance Retirees Club was a growing community for retirees and pre-retirees.

According to him, the platform provides practical retirement information, exclusive events, product and service updates, partner discounts and customer milestone benefits.

He said the initiative was part of the company’s broader commitment to promoting financial inclusion and improving access to insurance and related services.

Heirs Insurance Group is the insurance arm of Heirs Holdings.
