The Peoples Democratic Party has urged Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and character of the prophet, Muhammad, whose message of peace, justice, compassion, honesty and love for humanity inspires many generations.

The party made the call in a statement by its spokesman, Jungudo Mohammed, commemorating the birth of Muhammad and felicitating with Muslims nationwide on Tuesday.

Mr Mohammed, felicitating with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, urged Nigerians to draw from the prophet’s timeless virtues by promoting unity, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.

“As a nation, we must continue to strengthen the bonds that unite us and work collectively towards a more just, democratic and prosperous Nigeria,” the party said.

The party also called on Nigerians to offer prayers for peace and stability in the country, while seeking divine guidance for leaders at all levels as they discharge their responsibilities to citizens.

Mr Mohammed said the occasion should remind Nigerians of their collective responsibility to promote peace, unity, justice, tolerance and responsible leadership while working towards a prosperous and inclusive nation for all citizens.

“May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, strengthen our faith, bless our nation and grant us the wisdom and courage to build a Nigeria where justice, equity and good governance prevail,” he added.
