GoFundMe launched for family of Nigerian Mayowa Emmanuel who died in UK after cancer battle
Nigerians in the United Kingdom have set up a GoFundMe to raise fund to support the family of one Mayowa Emmanuel, who died on Saturday, after a cancer battle.
A digital marketer, Sam Edoho, who resides in the UK, made the disclosure in a Facebook page for Nigerians in the country.
Mr Edoho said, “The Nigerian community in the UK is appealing for support following the death of Mayowa Emmanuel, who passed away on 22 August 2026 at the age of 36 after a battle with cancer.
“An appeal has been launched to support his wife, young son and other family members as they navigate this difficult period.
“A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to receive donations, and members of the public are being encouraged to contribute whatever they can. A link to the fundraiser is available in the comments. My thoughts and prayers are with Mayowa’s family.”
Mr Edoho who described that the deceased as a beloved son, devoted husband and loving father, noted that his demise devastated his family, friends and wider community.
