The Idiroko unit command of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun has decorated 11 newly promoted officers with various ranks.

The Idiroko unit commander, Olalekan Alabi, who presided over the decoration exercise, described the promotion as a reward for hard work, dedication and professionalism.

Family members, colleagues and well-wishers were present to witness the event, as the 11 officers were promoted from various ranks to higher responsibilities.

The newly promoted officers cut across the marshal inspectorate and officer cadres.

“FRSC urges you to see this promotion as a call to greater service, as promotion comes with more responsibility to the nation.

“In addition, we charge you all to be good ambassadors of the corps in the discharge of your duties through discipline,” he said.

The unit commander reminded the officers that Idiroko is a border corridor with heavy traffic, tasking them to double their efforts in traffic management.

According to him, the Idiroko border links Nigeria with the Republic of Benin; as such, the volume of vehicular movement therein requires vigilance.

Mr Alabi, also one of the newly promoted officers, responded on behalf of the others.

He thanked the FRSC management for finding them worthy of promotion and promised that they would not betray the confidence reposed in them.
