Fernandes fires hat-trick as United thrash Ipswich 5-2

Manchester United bounce back with a statement victory, thrashing Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford on Sunday as Bruno Fernandes fires his first hat-trick of the season.
The visitors shocked United within the first 30 minutes with a goal from Leif Davis off an accurate pass from Abdul Fatawu.
United levelled the scoreline as Fernandes fired a perfect strike, with Matheus Cunha grabbing his first assist of the season to make it 1-1.
Ipswich conceded an own goal in the 56th minute from Jacob Greaves, which came through an initial shot from Harry Maguire that deflected off the centre-back.
Minutes later, the 25-year-old conceded a penalty following a challenge on Cunha, with Fernandes converting smoothly to increase the lead to 3-1.
Fernandes sealed his first hat-trick of the season after a shot from Kobbie Mainoo was blocked by Greaves before the ball arrived at Bryan Mbeumo. His effort was also blocked, allowing Fernandes to score from close range
Mbeumo made it 5-1 after a pass from Fernandes, allowing the Cameroonian to chip the ball over Kjell Scherpen.
In stoppage time, the visitors picked up another goal from Chuba Akpom after poor decision-making from United’s backline, which allowed Julio Enciso to intercept the ball and provide his second assist of the season.
United travel to face Everton next week as Ipswich host Liverpool on Saturday at Portman Road.
