The Abba Kabir-Yusuf Campaign Blueprint Development Committee has pledged to produce an inclusive, people-centred policy document for the Kano governorship election in 2027.

The chairman of the committee, Aminu Magashi-Garba, said this at the end of a two-day strategic retreat in which ended in Kaduna State on Sunday, according to a statement.

The retreat, he said, reviewed proposals and recommendations submitted by members of the State Executive Council, civil society organisations, community-based organisations, professional bodies, members of academia and senior government officials.

Mr Magashi-Garba said the blueprint will be developed to build on the gains of the first term while responding to emerging needs and the aspirations of the people of Kano.

“We also resolved to complete the AKY 2.0 Blueprint before the campaign activities by the governor begins. The committee also reviewed the implementation of the AKY 1.0 Blueprint, reflecting on achievements recorded during the first term and identifying areas that require further consolidation and attention,” he said.

He said the committee will organise town hall meetings to provide an opportunity to interact with citizens, hear their priorities and concerns, present the achievements of the AKY 1.0 Blueprint, and share the governor’s commitments for the second term as contained in the AKY 2.0 Blueprint.

He commended the contributions of members of the Kano Executive Council, CSOs, CBOs, professional bodies, academia and other stakeholders.
