TCN announces maintenance at Ajaokuta transmission substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced its annual preventive maintenance exercise scheduled to take place at its Ajaokuta 330/132kV Transmission Substation on Tuesday.
The company, in a memo on Monday, said the exercise would begin from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
“This exercise is necessary to enable maintenance crew work on the bay switchgear and associated equipment on 132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Line 1,” it said.
It stated that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to off-take electricity to its customers in Adogo, Anyimgba, Ganaja and adjoining areas.
“Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance exercise is completed,” the company said.
The management further apologised for the inconvenience the exercise would cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.
