Sultan condoles Hotpen publisher Dangida over wife’s death
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has condoled with the CEO of Hotpen Newspaper and Mahangar Arewa Magazine, Kano, Aliyu Dangida, over the death of his wife, Maryam Gote.
Mrs Dangida died on Wednesday in Kano, following complications related to a heart condition.
The sultan expressed his condolences in a message on Thursday.
He said the death of Mr Dangida’s wife was particularly painful, considering the support and wise counsel she provided to her husband in his professional and public engagements.
The sultan acknowledged Mr Dangida’s contributions to Nigeria’s media industry and public discourse, noting that the loss of a spouse who had been a source of strength to him was deeply saddening.
He urged the bereaved family to accept the death as God’s will and draw strength from their faith during the period of mourning.
“We are sad, but because Allah is the One who gives and takes life, we can only praise Him and beseech Him to forgive Hajia Maryam Gote’s shortcomings and admit her gentle soul into Al-Jannatul Firdaus,” he stated.
