The Adamawa State police command has confirmed six people dead in a fatal road accident along Girei Road on Friday.
The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said in a statement on Friday that the victims were confirmed dead at the hospital.
“Preliminary report indicated that six persons lost their lives in the crash. The victims were rushed to a hospital where they were confirmed dead,” he said.
Mr Nguroje said police officers were immediately mobilised to the scene to evacuate the victims and restore normal traffic flow.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of their souls.
Mr Nguroje appealed for calm, urging motorists to drive with caution, obey traffic rules, and avoid overspeeding to prevent further loss of life.
“Further details will be communicated as the investigation continues,” he added.
