Kaduna APC deputy governorship candidate Adams rewards ABU first-class graduates with cash
The All Progressives Party’s deputy governorship candidate in Kaduna, Jerry Adams, has fulfilled his pledge by rewarding the 2026 first-class graduates of the Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Mr Adams stated this in a statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Zakari Jamilu. Mr Adams said the initiative celebrates exceptional academic achievement while reinforcing institutional commitment to human capital development and intellectual rigour among young Nigerians.
He said the merit-based intervention honoured all four first-class graduates from the Faculty of Law’s 2026 graduating set. According to him, Kaduna indigenes Shimanh Daniel from Kauru council area and Obadiah Rosemary from Sanga council area each received N1 million.
“Demonstrating inclusive leadership, Adams also extended cash prizes to non-indigenes, including the overall best graduating student, Farida Mu’azu from Zamfara state, who received N500,000. Ebere Franklin from Imo state, also received N300,000,” Mr Jamilu.
Mr Adams noted that the gesture was made on behalf of himself and Governor Uba Sani. Explaining the philosophy behind the cross-regional outreach, Mr Adams restated that academic excellence transcends geographic, ethnic, and religious boundaries.
He added that by rewarding brilliant minds regardless of state of origin, the gesture establishes a progressive benchmark for public-spirited leadership, proving that dedicated hard work and discipline deserve national recognition.
Expressing appreciation for the intervention, the overall best graduating student, Farida Mu’azu, stated that the gesture transcends monetary value.
“For a leader to look beyond state lines to reward merit demonstrates a rare magnanimity and a genuine commitment to the Nigerian youth project,” she said.
The team lead, Ishaya Bamaiyi, along with fellow beneficiaries, lauded the gesture as a transformative catalyst that inspires incoming students nationwide to aim for professional excellence. They also offered prayers for victory for the APC and the Governor Uba Sani/Jerry Adams ticket in the 2027 elections.
