Governor Caleb Mutfwang has distributed Teaching and Learning Materials, including 19 minibuses, to the 17 Local Government Education Authorities. Mr Mutfwang flagged off the distribution of the items on Wednesday in Jos.

The TLM included 331,355 core textbooks, 19,905 copies of curriculum, and 67,200 copies of teachers’ guides. Others include 30,000 early-grade reading textbooks, 19 minibuses, and sewing and knitting machines.

While reiterating his vision that every Plateau child gets quality education, Mr Mutfwang urged that the materials be used judiciously to achieve that goal.

“Today’s gathering is a deliberate and strategic step in the policy trajectory of my administration, to reposition basic education in Plateau as the foundation of our collective future,” stated the Plateau governor. “We want to ensure that every child in our communities has access to learning that is relevant, safe and of high quality.”

Samuel Amuna, the executive chairman of SUBEB, while highlighting the administration’s achievements, commended the state government for its commitment to developing the education sector.
