Troops arrest suspected terrorist kingpin, ammunition supplier in Kaduna

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested suspected terrorists and intercepted ammunition couriers, including a suspected terrorist logistics supplier, in separate operations in Kaduna State.
Aliyu Danja, the spokesman for the operation, said in a statement that troops conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
“During the operation, troops arrested the terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at their hideout. The arrested suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation,” he said.
He explained that on the same day, troops, acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorist ammunition, arrested a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag in Igabi Local Government Area.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State,” he stated.
Mr Danja said the suspect and recovered items are in military custody for further investigation.
“Later that day, troops of Sector 1, in collaboration with a community vigilante group, apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
“During interrogation and a search of the suspect, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to be used by terrorists,” he said.
