The Kano State Flavour Dealers’ Association, in collaboration with the Kano State Consumer Protection Council, has vowed to prevent the sale of adulterated, expired, and unregistered flavour products in markets.

The association’s chairman, Abubakar Isah, said this while leading members on a visit to the council on Monday in Kano.

Mr Isah said, “The association will collaborate with the council to ensure that only quality flavour products are sold in markets across the state.”

He also assured the council that the association would sensitise its members to the dangers associated with selling adulterated, expired, and unregistered flavour products.

The executive secretary of KSCPC, Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, said the council would continue to protect consumers from products that could endanger their health and safety.

He reiterated the council’s readiness to intensify market surveillance and inspections to identify and remove adulterated products from the market.

Mr Garba-Muhammad urged the association’s leadership to educate its members on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

He said effective collaboration between the council and relevant stakeholders would significantly help enforce consumer protection laws and regulations in the state.
