The United Arab Emirates has condemned the Houthi rebels’ attempt to attack Makkah al-Mukarramah in Saudi Arabia with a drone.

In a statement on Wednesday, the country’s foreign affairs ministry said the attempted attack constituted a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a threat to its security and stability.

The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures to safeguard its security and stability.

The Houthi militia has denied any attempts to bomb Saudi Arabia.
