Former OAU professor Oluseye Bolaji is dead

A statement by the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, J.O. Soyinka, on Thursday said Mr Bolaji died after a brief illness.

A former professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University, Oluseye Bolaji, has died.

A statement by the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, J.O. Soyinka, on Thursday said Mr Bolaji died after a brief illness.

“It is with a heavy heart I announce the passing of Professor Oluseye Bolaji, a distinguished former member of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Obafemi Awolowo University,” the statement said. “Prof Bolaji passed away late last night after a brief illness.”

Mr Soyinka noted that the deceased retired from the university about three years ago, having contributed immensely to the development of the department, the faculty, and the university during his years of dedicated service.

“His passing is a great loss to his wife, children, family, colleagues, former students and the entire Faculty of Pharmacy community. At this difficult moment, we pray that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, will comfort and strengthen his wife, children and entire family. May God grant them the grace and fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the statement said.
