The police command in Adamawa State has arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of eight underground irrigation water pipes valued at about ₦3 million.

In a statement on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said the pipes were stolen from the farm of the late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, located in the Gayewa area of Yola South Local Government Area.

Mr Nguroje identified the suspects as Ibrahim Mohammed and Jemilu Yahaya.

“They were arrested following credible information received by operatives attached to Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters. Preliminary investigation revealed that Ibrahim Mohammed allegedly stole the pipes and sold them to the second suspect, Jemilu Yahaya,” he said.

He noted that one carry-go motorcycle and the stolen irrigation pipes had been recovered, adding that the suspects would be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
