Six kidnap victims rescued in Kaduna, Katsina

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued six kidnapped victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina states.
In a statement on Friday, Aliyu Danja, the command’s spokesman, said the victims were rescued following credible intelligence.
Mr Danja said troops acting on intelligence about a kidnapping incident in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State encountered suspected terrorists moving some kidnapped victims.
“Acting on intelligence on a kidnapping incident in Igabi Local Government Area, made contact with suspected terrorists moving some kidnapped victims,” he said.
He said the terrorists abandoned the victims and fled after sighting the troops.
The three victims were identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda and Kalif Haruna.
“The victims were confirmed to have been abducted by terrorists at Gidan Gulbi Village on 11 September 2026,” he noted.
Mr Danja said the victims were debriefed and reunited with their families, while troops continued to dominate the area.
In a separate incident, he said troops of Sector 2 responded to a distress call over the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.
“Troops swiftly mobilised to the area and made contact with the terrorists, engaging them with overwhelming firepower and forcing them to flee into the surrounding bushes, abandoning their victims,” he said.
He added that the troops pursued the fleeing terrorists and rescued three kidnapped victims.
The rescued victims were identified as Abubakar Abdulkadir, 25; Mansir Idris, 26; and Abubakar Aliyu, 21.
Mr Danja said the troops also recovered a black Golf vehicle belonging to the victims, adding that they were later escorted and released to continue their journey.
