EFCC declares convicted ex-pension boss Maina wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms (PTFPR), Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over allegations of receiving stolen property.
In a statement on Wednesday by the agency’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, the commission made his photograph public and urged members of the public to provide useful information about his whereabouts.
“The public is hereby notified that ABDULRASHEED ABDULLAHI MAINA, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of receiving stolen properties,” his statement read.
The commission said the ex-chairman of PTFPR is 61-year-old and an indigene of Biu in Borno State.
“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies,” the statement added.
Mr Maina served as PTFPR from 2010 to 2013 under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
The development came barely five years after Mr Maina was sentenced to 61 years in jail after finding him guilty of money laundering and racketeering.
