500 youths to attend Scout Council Camporee for leadership training
The Scout Association of Nigeria, Osun Council, says 500 youths will participate in its 2026 Camporee aimed at grooming them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The scout commissioner, Sola Atanda, said this in a statement on Thursday. Mr Atanda, a Marathon ’63 Scouter, said the participants were drawn from across the country, particularly from the 30 local government areas of Osun.
He said the programme, scheduled for September 25 to 27 in Osogbo, was designed to help participants learn, grow, connect, and build memories through the spirit of scouting.
According to him, youths deserve to be empowered in all areas of their lives so they can channel their God-given talents and energies toward productive purposes and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s overall development.
Mr Atanda called on the state government to partner with and support the state Scout Council. He urged the participants to live up to the principle of ‘Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Scouting’.
He charged those attending the event to be prepared and intentional and to participate fully in all the scheduled activities.
