A Nigerian, Greg Chukwuka Orji, once convicted of dangerous drugs offences and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl in Hutchinson, Kansas, has been captured by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Mr Orji, 22, was captured over the weekend by ICE agents, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said in a statement on Monday.

“Greg Chukwuka Orji, a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria, convicted for dangerous drugs and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl in Hutchinson, Kansas,” the statement said.

The 22-year-old was arrested alongside other illegal immigrants who were also formerly convicted of crimes. The Department of Homeland Security listed Mr Orji among “America’s Worst of the Worst” criminals to be deported from the country.

“While Americans enjoyed their weekend, the brave men and women of ICE arrested murderers, child sexual predators, and child abusers who should not have been in our country in the first place,” said Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

He added, “Under President Trump, ICE has been unleashed to target and remove illegal aliens from our communities so that we can Make America Safe Again. Arresting and deporting illegal aliens saves lives.”

In 2025, Mr Orji was arrested and convicted in Hutchinson, Kansas, for drug violations and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
