Dimas Tuwai, Controller, Federal Ministry of Works in Adamawa, says the federal government is committed to delivering quality road projects for the maximum benefit of Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Mr Tuwai disclosed this in an interview with the journalists in Yola on Wednesday.

He said that several federal government road projects in the state had been completed, while others were ongoing or had recently been awarded.

He said Phase I of the rehabilitation of the Yola-Hong-Mubi Road, covering 58 kilometres of critically failed sections, had been completed.

According to him, Phase I of the rehabilitation of the 56-kilometre Yola-Fufore-Gurin Road had reached 90 per cent completion.

He added that the construction and rehabilitation of Phase I of the Jabbi-Lamba Road was also progressing, with more than 50 per cent of the work completed.

Mr Tuwai further disclosed that new contracts had been awarded for the construction of the Jimeta-Mayonne-Mayo-Belwa Road and the Toungo-Karamti Road, which links Adamawa with Taraba.

He said the two projects were awaiting mobilisation to site.

The controller also said the Cham-Numan section of the Gombe-Yola Road, which had been rescoped, had reached about 50 per cent completion.

“We were able to complete the bridge that was causing problems there.

“Out of the 46 kilometres of that road, only 11 kilometres remain. Immediately after the rainy season, the contractor will return to site,” he explained.

Mr Tuwai further disclosed that the proposed rescoping of the rehabilitation of the Gombi-Biu Road and the Numan-Jalingo Road was in the pipeline.

He added that the rehabilitation of the Mararaba-Mubi-Michika-Madagali Road Phase I was also ongoing.

The controller assured motorists and residents that the federal government remained committed to the timely completion of ongoing road projects in the state under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the projects, when completed, would improve transportation services, facilitate the movement of people and goods, and boost economic activities across Adamawa and neighbouring states.

Mr Tuwai also urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid speeding around construction zones to minimise accidents and other challenges associated with ongoing road works.
