40-year-old man arraigned for allegedly breaking into woman’s shop

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A 40-year-old man, Rafiu Olalekan, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, Oyo State, for alleged conspiracy, shop breaking and stealing in a woman’s shop.

Olalekan, however, pleaded not guilty three three-count charge.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Samuel Owolabi, said that the defendant committed the offences on October 2, at Elewure area of Ibadan, in the midnight.

He alleged that the defendant and others at large broke into the shop of the complainant, Tomilola Asaolu and stole game equipment worth over N5 million.

He said the offences contravene Sections 516, 413 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Gladys Olanrewaju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until November 4, for hearing.
