NIA condoles families of crashed NAF aircraft victims

The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) on Wednesday commiserated with the families of 25 people who died in a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash near Igbokoda, Ondo State on Monday.

The NIA Chairman, Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, expressed the association’s condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Chief of Air Staff, the Nigerian Armed Forces and other stakeholders in the aviation industry.

Mrs Nwachukwu also sympathised with the bereaved families, the Federal Government and Nigerians over the tragedy.

She said, “Words are insufficient to convey the profound grief felt across our industry following this tragedy. The loss of 25 patriotic military personnel and crew members represents an irreparable blow to our national security framework and a heartbreaking moment for our nation. These courageous individuals devoted their lives to safeguarding the sovereignty, peace and security of our homeland.”

She stated that the service and ultimate sacrifice of the deceased would remain permanently etched in the nation’s memory.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families facing this unimaginable loss,” she stated.

Mrs Nwachukwu said the insurance industry remained committed to providing financial stability and prompt relief to beneficiaries and affected institutions.

She said member insurance companies had been directed to prioritise and expedite the processing of all valid claims arising from the incident.

“The Nigerian insurance industry stands fully prepared to honour its obligations and ensure that the families of our fallen heroes receive the financial support and benefits to which they are entitled without administrative delay.

“The association prays for divine strength and comfort for the grieving families and for the peaceful repose of the departed heroes,” she said.

NAF on Tuesday released the official list of 25 victims comprising five crew members and 20 passengers.
