ICE nabs Chimaobim Igbojekwe, campaign canvasser for Democrat Janelle Stelson, for illegal stay, public nudity
A Nigerian, Chimaobim Igbojekwe, has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and now faces deportation from the United States. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced Mr Igbojekwe’s arrest on Wednesday.
Mr Igbojekwe’s trouble began when ICE operatives apprehended him while working as a canvasser for a congressional campaign in East Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania.
Mr Igbojekwe legally entered the U.S. in June 2017. After his authorised period expired in November 2019, he remained there illegally. He was later granted deferred action in September 2021.
Working as a campaign canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district, Mr Igbojekwe was caught in public with his pants off, fully exposing himself, in a residential neighbourhood near a park with residents, including children, in the area.
Mr Igbojekwe pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge and now risks deportation after sentencing based on his illegal stay in the U.S.
ICE deputy director Charles Wall said, “It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public.
“Every single day, the men and women of DHS are working hard to target and remove dangerous illegal aliens like this sicko from our communities. The Trump administration will always put the safety of the American people first.”
