A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Friday sentenced a 22-year-old trader, Mustapha Musa, to one year’s imprisonment for threatening to kill his colleague.

The convict pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation and threat to life.

The magistrate, Irene Pati, sentenced Musa to one year’s imprisonment, with the option of a N70,000 fine.

While reviewing the facts, the prosecution counsel, Ijuptil Thiawur, told the court that the complainant, Charibu Sani, reported the case on August 28 at the ‘C’ Division police station.

Mr Thiawur said the convict went to the complainant’s shop and threatened to kill him after an argument.

He said the offence contravened Section 275 of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
