2027: Kwara North traditional rulers pledge massive votes for APC

Traditional rulers and political stakeholders from Kwara North Senatorial District have pledged massive votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The traditional rulers and political stakeholders made the pledge on Friday during the Kwara North Traditional Rulers and Political Stakeholders’ Engagement, held at the Moro Local Government Council Secretariat in Bode Saadu.
The engagement was themed “Kwara Project 2027: A Path Towards Sustainable Unity and a More Prosperous Kwara.”
Speaking at the event, the Etsu Pategi, Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, expressed appreciation for what he described as the political progress recorded by the senatorial district.
Mr Bologi, who is also the vice-chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, said the meeting was to plead with President Bola Tinubu and the federal government to support their agenda.
“We are here today to officially thank President Bola Tinubu and Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for fulfilling their promise to Kwara North and the entire people of Kwara State.
“We are sincerely grateful for this opportunity given to Kwara North. We also wish to acknowledge the support of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,” he said.
The emir noted that the emergence of the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi, as the APC governorship candidate had strengthened the district’s sense of political representation ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He urged the people of Kwara North and Kwara citizens generally to support Mr AbdulRazaq, citing his administration’s achievements.
In his remarks, the APC governorship candidate expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers and people of Kwara North for their support, guidance and goodwill.
Mr Danladi commended Messrs Tinubu and AbdulRazaq for standing by the people of the senatorial district when it mattered most, assuring them that their gesture would be reciprocated with massive votes from the district.
He recalled Mr Tinubu’s famous declaration, “Emi lo kan” (It is my turn), and presented his own message to the people of Kwara, reaffirming that it was the turn of Kwara North to produce the next governor of the state.
“I am not just contesting to be governor of Kwara; I want to be the governor of Kwara and I will be the governor,” Mr Danladi declared.
The gathering highlighted the growing political significance of Kwara North’s governorship bid and the support expressed by traditional and political stakeholders for Mr Danladi’s candidacy.
On Thursday, some elders and members of the APC from the senatorial district had dissociated themselves from the position of the traditional rulers from the zone.
The stakeholders, in a statement signed by five members representing all the local government areas that make up the district, advised the traditional rulers to avoid involving themselves in partisan politics.
