Troops nab three suspects, recover rifle in Plateau

Troops of the 24 Armoured Brigade under Operation Safe Haven have arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered a foldable FN rifle, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle in Sabon Gida, Pil village, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the operation highlighted its efforts to strengthen security, respond to threats and protect lives and property.
“Following the distress call, the Acting Commander, 24 Armoured Brigade, swiftly led a patrol team to the scene, where the victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead, was evacuated to a nearby medical facility for urgent medical attention,” it said.
The army said troops, working with local vigilantes, conducted a coordinated search that led to the arrest of three suspects identified as John Nimmeyez, Nanzif Khmzif and Nanchaf Lamck.
Items recovered included a foldable FN rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition and a stolen motorcycle.
It added that the suspects and the recovered items were in the custody of the troops for further action.
The army said troops had intensified patrols across the area to prevent further attacks and strengthen public confidence in security operations.
