Local, global miners to converge on Abuja for Nigeria Mining Week

Cyril Azobu, partner and mining industry leader at PwC Nigeria, said Nigeria would leverage the event as a destination for investment.

Global capital, chambers of mines, and operators will converge on Abuja as Nigeria Mining Week 2026 opens, with more than 3,000 attendees expected.

Themed “Unlocking Investment and Growth through Partnerships,” the 11th edition of the event will run from October 12 to 14 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, where local miners will meet their international counterparts, including Geneva-headquartered commodities group Mercuria, a statement by organisers said Monday.

The event, organised by the Miners Association of Nigeria in partnership with PwC Nigeria, features seven forums, including a new critical minerals forum focusing on Nigeria’s potential role in global battery, electric vehicle and magnet supply chains.

Although the exhibition floor is free for registered visitors on October 13 and 14, the Deal Room will be accessed by invitation only on Wednesday.

Cyril Azobu, partner and mining industry leader at PwC Nigeria, said Nigeria would leverage the event as a destination for investment.

“In an increasingly competitive global minerals market, Nigeria must position itself not simply as a source of raw minerals, but as a destination for investment, processing and value addition,” said Mr Azobu.

Participants include Segilola Resources Operating Limited, the Embassy of Sweden, Africa Finance Corporation, the Ghana and Botswana Chambers of Mines, international mining equipment manufacturers and Nigerian government agencies.
