Oyo police nab three suspected homosexuals in Saki
The Oyo State police command says it arrested three suspects over alleged homosexuality following an intelligence-led operation in the Saki area of the state.
In a statement on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, said the operation followed intelligence received by the command on September 29, 2026.
He stated that the suspects were arrested over alleged involvement in the act.
Mr Olayinka said the state commissioner of police directed the command monitoring unit to verify the intelligence and take appropriate action, culminating in the arrest of three suspects.
The suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.
According to him, during the preliminary investigations, the suspects allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.
He said, “Two of the suspects reportedly confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the third suspect on multiple occasions, with the latter allegedly regarded by them as their “wife.
“Investigations are, however, ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether any other individuals are connected to the matter.”
