PSG beat Barcelona 4-2 to continue perfect start; Man City thrash AEK Athens 5-1
Paris Saint-Germain continued their perfect start to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League campaign following an impressive 4-2 win over Spanish champions Barcelona at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
Desire Doue opened the scoring for PSG in the 38th minute before Xavi Espart equalised for Barcelona 10 minutes into the second half, firing the ball past goalkeeper Matvey Safonov inside the 18-yard box.
Lucas Hernandez restored PSG’s lead in the 72nd minute by heading a corner kick from Doue but Lamine Yamal levelled the game again for Barcelona, looping the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
However, Vitinha put PSG ahead once more in the 81st minute with a shot from outside the 18-yard box before Fabian Ruiz sealed the victory for the hosts five minutes later, tapping home a cross from Achraf Hakimi.
Liverpool also made it three wins from three matches following a 4-3 comeback win over Villarreal at Anfield.
Alexis Mac Allister, Ronald Araujo and Florian Wirtz scored for the Reds, while Georges Mikautadze, Sergi Cardona and Tani Oluwaseyi scored for Villarreal.
In other matches, Manchester City thrashed AEK Athens 5-1, with Phil Foden scoring a hat-trick, while Elliot Anderson and Rayan Cherki also found the net for the Premier League side. Roma, meanwhile, cruised to a 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava.
